On 30 May, Ragn-Sells brought together representatives of the state, local governments and the construction and waste management sectors to take a closer look at how construction waste is collected, treated and returned to circulation.
- Green Marine board member Indrek Kajakas explained how construction waste is sorted and what happens to the materials next.
- Member of the Riigikogu and editor-in-chief of the Construction Roadmap 2040 Pärtel-Peeter Pere shared recommendations on how to reduce CO2 emissions in the construction and real estate sector.
- Ragn-Sells Group Head of Sustainability Pär Larshans spoke about the changes waste management legislation would need.
- Head of the Tallinn Waste Centre Rein Kalle spoke about the ways local governments can advance waste management.
- Merko Ehitus quality specialist Mait Adler gave an overview of the support construction companies need to increase the sorting and recycling of waste.
- Head of the circular economy department of the Environmental Board Reet Siilaberg gave an overview of the supervision results so far and possible improvements for the future.
- Adviser at the environmental management department of the Ministry of the Environment Görel Grauding presented the vision, goals and measures of the national waste management plan.
The round table clearly showed that everyone shares the same goals, and the will and readiness to work together!
